Get to Know Me
I’m Yan Katz, an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #17710) with a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from the California School of Professional Psychology. I specialize in helping high performers and deep seekers move beyond the shiny but suffocating cages of success into a more meaningful, embodied, and liberated life.
At Katz Psychotherapy, I guide clients through unconscious patterns and outdated narratives—those subtle inner blocks that no longer serve—using a bold, integrative approach rooted in psychodynamic depth, existential inquiry, somatic awareness, and ancient transformational wisdom. Whether you’re wrestling with burnout, trauma, addiction, or that aching feeling of “Is this all there is?”, I offer a grounded, compassionate space to break through upper limits and realign with your most authentic self.
Born in the former Soviet Union and raised in the U.S. since age three, I spent 20 years chasing the American dream through finance and the music industry—only to realize the greatest success is a life lived in alignment. That revelation led me down a path of healing, personal transformation, and eventually, service. My clinical training is backed by decades of personal exploration into altered states, psychedelics, men’s work, meditation, yoga, Muay Thai, language, and creative expression. Each of these lived experiences deepens the presence and intuition I bring into the therapy room.
I practice under the clinical supervision of Maryanne Duan, LMFT (#94176), a deeply experienced therapist whose guidance ensures a collaborative and expertly informed process.
In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I serve as a Therapeutic Coach with Beond, where I support clients through ibogaine-assisted therapy, including preparation and integration. At Beond, I bring my trauma-informed lens and holistic background—blending modalities like somatic work, Gestalt, inner child healing, and psychodrama—to help individuals navigate profound healing journeys and access their inner light with clarity, compassion, and strength.
If you’re ready to stop performing life and start living it fully—let’s talk.
